I started Bird Watching way back in 1971 when I was working at a location surrounded by canals,green agricultural fields, a river , bullocks ploughing the fields, orchards and blooming nature blessed with birds of India.The love story with birds continued over time and one day I got opportunity at Bangalore in 1977 to meet in person the great Dr Salim Ali and he happily autographed my copy of his book on Indian Birds.I treasure this book and have recorded my bird watching observations in it .

Bird watching activities of mine got an impetus when I travelled to North America and has blossomed into a website called metanahat.com and a YouTube channel YouTube.com/@dineshsikand .So far it contains about 300 videos on nature and birds. I exhort you to visit this channel and enjoy its contents and subscribe so that you remain in touch with nature.I also have groups on Facebook called Friends of Nature and Nature Lovers.

It is appropriate that in this blog I share with you some recent photos of nature and birds.
